Find out more about what membership means when Rev Karen facilitates a required orientation for all those who wish to join New Dawn Church. The other requirement includes attending the two sessions of Pathway to Inspired Living, which will cover the background of Science of Mind and Spirit and the spiritual principles we teach and also explain the opportunities available at New Dawn.

Wednesday July 9 Music and Mandala 7pm to 9pm

Presented by Music Therapist, Mary Morreale.

Music and Mandala increases awareness of the ways in which music can move, inspire and heal through conscious listening of a variety of musical genres. It introduces tools for self and spiritual exploration and expression through learning about and experiencing drawing and interpreting mandalas.

Facilitating the class is professional musician and board-certified music therapist, Mary J. Morreale. Mary is founder of Empower Innovations, offering original programs using music and spirituality to promote health and wellness.

Saturday July 12 Men's Ministry Meeting 8am to 10am

Saturday July 12 Patio Sale 8am - 2pm

• Your give aways may be someone else's treasures.
• Clean out the closets and attack the attic and basement for our annual patio sale.
• This is a good way to make room for new things while supporting New Dawn.
• In fact, the patio sale is not only a good time to get rid of things but also a good place to find some bargains.
• You can bring everything (with the exception of adult clothing) to the church the week of the sale.

Sunday July 13 Pancake Breakfast Before and After Service!

The New Dawn Chefs are at work and are offering their annual gourmet breakfast to the congregation.

Enjoy pancakes, sausage, eggs and all the trimmings cooked up by the Men's Ministry before and after the service.

Friday July 18 "For the Bible Tells Me So"

Winner of numerous awards including Beliefnet's People's Choice award for Best Spiritual Documentary for 2008! 

The film is a compassionate and insightful documentary about the contemporary face of an old conflict between Christian fundamentalists and gay and lesbian people. The film looks deep into the hearts of several families--a few of them quite famous--that have struggled with making sense of having a homosexual son or daughter in the fold.

At the same time, For the Bible Tells Me So is a deconstruction of thin arguments that the Bible actually condemns homosexuality in a few passages and through the story of Sodom and Gomorrah's destruction.

A number of clerics and scholars explain the cultural and historical context for Old Testament quotes routinely referenced as arguments against homosexuality, and point out translation confusion about the real meaning of the Sodom story.

Sunday July 20 The Didgeridoo man: Phil Jones 1pm to 3:30 pm

• Visiting Australian lecturer and recording artist Phil Jones will present an interactive workshop teaching meditation and simple breathing techniques with the Australian didgeridoo.
• The didgeridoo is an ancient mesmerizing drone instrument made from a eucalyptus tree and traditionally played in ceremony and healing by the Aboriginal clans of Australia. Playing the didgeridoo creates soothing and resonant harmonics that easily erase the 'monkey chatter' in the mind - enhancing mental clarity and emotional equanimity.
• The primordial vibration of the didgeridoo and the simple breathing techniques help create a state of relaxation, lower blood pressure, relax the heart, improve digestion, and significantly reduce sleep apnea and snoring.
• No musical experience is necessary. All participants will be provided an authentic Australian didgeridoo to play during the workshop. Didgeridoos and meditation CD's will be available to purchase after the workshop.

Plan now to have your children attend the Kreative Kids Camp at New Dawn Church!
For kids from 3 to 14 years

Age appropriate activities planned for all of the campers that will include:

• Walk the Labyrinth
• Games
• Drumming Circle
• Design your own T-shirt and some fun surprises.
